Taste Morocco Through Your Own Hands

Food is the heart of Moroccan culture .. a language of love, hospitality, and centuries-old tradition. Our cooking classes invite you beyond the restaurant table and into the soul of Moroccan kitchens, where recipes are passed down through generations and every dish tells a story.

An Immersive Culinary Experience

Market Discovery
Your experience begins in the vibrant souks, where locals shop for their daily meals. Walk through stalls overflowing with colorful spices .. cumin, saffron, paprika, ras el hanout. Learn to select the freshest vegetables, understand the different types of olives, and discover ingredients you’ve never encountered before. Your guide will teach you how Moroccans choose their ingredients and share stories about each spice’s place in traditional medicine and cooking.

Hands-On Cooking
In a traditional home or beautiful riad kitchen, you’ll work alongside experienced Moroccan cooks … often women who learned these recipes from their mothers and grandmothers. Roll couscous by hand, layer the perfect tagine, knead bread dough, fold crispy briouat pastries, and master the art of Moroccan mint tea service.

These aren’t simplified tourist versions … you’ll learn authentic techniques and family recipes, the kind that locals actually cook in their homes.

Share the Feast
After cooking, gather around a communal table to enjoy the fruits of your labor. There’s something magical about eating food you’ve prepared yourself, especially when surrounded by new friends and the warmth of Moroccan hospitality.

What You’ll Learn to Cook

Our classes can be customized to your interests, but popular dishes include:

  • Traditional chicken or lamb tagine with preserved lemons and olives
  • Seven-vegetable couscous with handmade grain
  • Zaalouk (eggplant salad) and taktouka (pepper and tomato salad)
  • Fresh Moroccan bread baked in traditional ovens
  • Sweet and savory pastilla
  • Honey-soaked chebakia or almond cookies
  • The perfect pot of mint tea—Morocco’s ritual of hospitality

More Than Recipes

You’ll leave with more than cooking skills. You’ll understand the philosophy behind Moroccan food … the importance of sharing, the balance of sweet and savory, the medicinal properties of spices, the ritual of tea as a gesture of welcome.

We’ll provide you with recipes to recreate these dishes at home, but more importantly, you’ll carry memories of laughter in kitchens, the aroma of fresh spices, and the warmth of being welcomed into Moroccan daily life.

Whether you’re a food enthusiast, a professional chef seeking inspiration, or simply curious about Moroccan culture, our cooking classes offer a delicious doorway into the heart of Morocco.
