On the first day of your 10-day Morocco holiday from Tangier, we'll pick you up from your accommodation, the airport, or the port in Tangier. Tangier, also known as "the bride of the north," sits at the meeting point of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean near Cape Spartel. We'll start by exploring this beautiful city, visiting the Cave of Hercules and Cape Spartel. Afterward, you'll have free time for lunch. Then, we'll drive inland to Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif mountains, with stops for panoramic views along the way. Finally, we'll drop you off at your hotel in Chefchaouen for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, our 10-day Morocco holiday continues with a day to explore Chefchaouen, also known as Achaoun, nestled in the Rif mountains of northwest Morocco. Famous for its blue and white buildings and alleyways, Chefchaouen offers a charming old Medina to wander through, with many beautiful authentic blue doors. You'll have free time for lunch before an afternoon hike to the Spanish mosque, offering a spectacular view of the entire blue city. Overnight stay in the same hotel.
After breakfast, take some time to wander through the beautiful alleyways of Chefchaouen's blue city before we head to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Volubilis boasts well-preserved ruins including beautiful mosaics, pillars, and archways. From there, we'll drive 30 km to Meknes, one of Morocco's imperial cities, to visit landmarks like Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani basin, and the Royal stables. Then, we'll continue to Fes for an overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast, we'll pick you up from your accommodation in Fes to explore this imperial city and cultural hub of Morocco. We'll start with the Royal Palace gate before delving into the well-preserved medieval Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With a local guide, you'll visit landmarks like the Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud), Medrasa Bouanania, Najjarine Fountain, Tanneries, and the Quaraouin mosque and university—the oldest university in the world. Afterward, we'll explore the Jewish quarter, Mellah, and visit an ancient fortress for panoramic views before returning to your riad.
After breakfast, our journey south begins with a drive through Imouzzer to visit Ifrane, often called the Switzerland of Morocco for its low temperature and alpine-style architecture. We'll then continue to the cedar forest, home to Barbary macaques, before reaching Midelt for lunch. Driving through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and Ziz valley, we'll arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon. Here, you'll switch to camels for a desert trek, enjoying a sunset stop atop a high dune before reaching your camp for Berber music and overnight accommodation.
After breakfast, we'll dedicate the day to exploring the region around Merzouga, including sand dunes, a wild lake, mines, fossils areas, and oases. Highlights include visiting an ancient eyeliner mine, meeting nomads in their tents, enjoying Gnaoua music in Khamlia village, and strolling through a palm grove. We'll also visit the wild lake of Merzouga before returning to Merzouga for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
Wake up early to catch the sunrise before breakfast. Then, we'll leave the desert to visit Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet, and explore its lively souk. Continuing to Erfoud, we'll visit a workshop of fossilized marble before driving through palm groves to reach the Todra Gorges. Here, you can wander through the canyon and admire the landscape before continuing to the Dades valley for dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast, we'll visit the Rose Valley in Kalaa Magouna, known for its annual Rose Festival. Driving through Skoura palm groves, we'll visit the Kasbah of Amredhyle before reaching Ouarzazate to explore its studios and Taourirt Kasbah.
